Chicks - April 26th Hatch

LOCAL PICKUP ONLY - Cambridge, NY

If you'd rather not incubate eggs, we're doing that part for you! Chicks will be ready to go to their new homes April 26th. If you are a first time chicken keeper, please make sure to have everything ready for them before you bring them home (same goes for veteran chicken-keepers, but I'm sure you already know the drill!).

Chicks available in this hatch will be:

Barn Mix

Silkie

Barn Mix may include full blooded Black Copper Marans and Lavender Ameraucanas as well as Olive Eggers, and a mix of everything in between.  If you're aiming for something in particular (good egg layers, colorful eggs, friendly disposition) please drop a note when you order and we can select for mixes that have those qualities when we pack your order- we can't guarantee pure blooded anything when you're ordering Barn Mix.  Thank you!

For more information on our breeds, please visit the chicken page.

All chicks are sold unsexed/straight run. This means you have a 50/50 chance of getting roosters or hens- none of the breeds we raise are autosexing, so we can't tell roosters from hens when they hatch (I promise, we're not just keeping it a secret, we really don't know).

  • Per New York State Law, there is a minimum 6 chick per order requirement.  If you order fewer than 6 chicks, we will not be able to fulfill your order- it will be cancelled and you will be refunded.  Thank you for understanding!

  • We participate in the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP flock ID #1670) and test annually for Pullorum-Typhoid and Avian Influenza.  We keep a closed flock and are very consientious about biosecurity.

For 2025 we have reduced our flock numbers to more carefully control our birds' exposure to wild and migratory birds (carriers for AI) and we no longer have any waterfowl on the farm.  We are doing our best to provide our birds with a happy living environment while still taking precautions against H5N1.
